The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 but I too plan against them. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
