Al-Haaqqah 2 of 2
But nay! I swear by all that ye see 38 And that which ye see not. 39 because the Quran is certainly the word of a reverent messenger. 40 And it is not the speech of a poet. Little it is that ye believe 41 Nor is it the word of a soothsayer (or a foreteller), little is that you remember! 42 [It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 43 And if he had fabricated against Us some of the sayings, 44 We surely had lain hold of him by the right hand. 45 then, We would surely have cut from him the aorta (vein) 46 Nor could any of you withhold him (from Our wrath). 47 The Quran is certainly a reminder for the pious ones. 48 We certainly know that some among you do deny it. 49 And lo! it is indeed an anguish for the disbelievers. 50 And He, He is indeed the ultimate Reality. 51 So glorify your Lord, the most supreme. 52

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
