Nay, by the Moon 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 A warning unto humankind 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 Of evil-doers: 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
