The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars fall, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Where then will you go? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
