The people of Al-Hijr denied Our apostles; 80 And We gave them Our Signs, but they were averse to them. 81 notwithstanding that they had been wont [to enjoy Our blessings and] to hew out dwellings from the mountains, [wherein they could live] in security 82 and the Cry seized them in the morning; 83 And what they earned did not avail them. 84 AND [remember:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without [an inner] truth; but, behold, the Hour [when this will become clear to all] is indeed yet to come. Hence, forgive [men's failings] with fair forbearance: 85 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-creator, the All-knowing. 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated, and the mighty Koran. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"- 89 As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians). 90 those who had split up their Qur'an into pieces. 91 So by your Lord, We will surely question them all 92 Of what they used to do. 93 Therefore declare openly what you are bidden and turn aside from the polytheists. 94 Verily We will suffice unto thee against the mockers. 95 Those who adopt, with Allah, another god: but soon will they come to know. 96 And indeed We know that you are disheartened by their speech. 97 So hallow thou the praise of thy Lord, and be thou of the prostrate. 98 And go on worshipping your Lord till the certainty (of death) comes upon you. 99
