The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers 1 Those who humbly cry in their prayers. 2 those who turn away from all that is frivolous; 3 who give charity, 4 and who are mindful of their chastity, 5 except with their spouses and slave-girls. The practice of carnal relations is lawful with them. 6 But whoever seeks to go beyond that, these are they that exceed the limits; 7 And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive 8 And they who carefully maintain their prayers - 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Who shall inherit Paradise; therein they shall be abiders. 11 And assuredly We created man of an extract of clay. 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 then We developed that drop into a clinging form, and We developed that form into a lump of flesh, and We developed that lump into bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We brought him into being as a new creation, glory be to God, the best of creators, 14 After that you shall surely die, 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 We send down water from the sky in determined measure, and store it up in the earth; and We have power to drain it away. 18 So with it We produced gardens of date-palms and grapes for you, in which is abundant fruit for you and you eat therefrom. 19 Also a tree springing out of Mount Sinai, which produces oil, and relish for those who use it for food. 20 And indeed, for you in livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are numerous benefits, and from them you eat. 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
