Hizb 46
< random >
Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 He abandoned his people 140 cast lots, and was among the losers. 141 then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. 142 Had he not been one of those who struggled hard, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish until the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more 147 And they came to believe; so We allowed them to enjoy the good things of life for an age. 148 AND NOW ask them to enlighten thee: Has thy Sustainer daughters, whereas they would have [only] sons? 149 Did We create the angels as females the while they witnessed?” 150 Lo! verily it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 Allah hath begotten. Allah! verily they tell a lie. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What is the matter with you that you make such strange judgements? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Do you have any clear authority for such claims? 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. 158 Glorified be Allah from that which they attribute (unto Him), 159 all of them except the chosen servants of Allah. 160 Wherefore verily neither ye nor that which ye worship, 161 shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 None of us is there, but has a known station; 164 and, verily, we too are ranged [before Him in worship]; 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 And indeed the disbelievers used to say, 167 "If only we had had before us a Message from those of old, 168 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 And surely, only Our army will be victorious. 173 Therefore turn away from them till a time, 174 And watch them (how they fare), and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 175 What! would they then hasten on Our chastisement? 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 So turn (away) from them for a while, 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 And peace be upon all His message-bearers! 181 And all praise is due to God alone, the Sustainer of all the worlds! 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
