Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 in a sublime garden, 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 And arranged carpets. 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And the earth – how it has been spread out? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 You do not have full control over them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
