T H (Taa Haa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ TA HA. 1 We have not sent the Quran down to you to distress you, 2 But as a reminder unto him who feareth, 3 it is a revelation from Him who has created the earth and the high heavens, 4 the All Merciful settled on the throne. 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, and all that lies between them, and underneath the soil. 6 And if thou speakest the word aloud, then verily He knoweth the secret and the most hidden. 7 Allah! There is no Allah save Him. His are the most beautiful names. 8 And has the story of Musa come to you? 9 When he saw a fire, he said to his family: "Wait! Verily, I have seen a fire, perhaps I can bring you some burning brand therefrom, or find some guidance at the fire." 10 But when he came to the fire, a voice was heard: "O Moses! 11 “Indeed I am your Lord, therefore take off your shoes; indeed you are in the holy valley of Tuwa!” 12 And I! I have chosen thee, hearken thou then to that which shall be revealed. 13 "Verily, I - I alone - am God; there is no deity save Me. Hence, worship Me alone, and be constant in prayer, so as to remember Me! 14 "Verily, the Hour is coming and My Will is to keep it hidden that every person may be rewarded for that which he strives. 15 Do not let anyone who does not believe in it and follows his own desires turn you away from it and so bring you to ruin." 16 What is that in your right band, O Moses?" 17 He said: This is my staff whereon I lean, and wherewith I bear down branches for my sheep, and wherein I find other uses. 18 God said, "Moses, cast it down." 19 So he threw it down, and lo, it became a running serpent. 20 Allah said: take hold of it, and fear not; We shall restore it to its former state. 21 "Now draw thy hand close to thy side: It shall come forth white (and shining), without harm (or stain),- as another Sign,- 22 for We shall show you some of Our greatest Signs. 23 “Go to Firaun, he has rebelled.” 24
