If only you could see the evil-doers hanging their heads in shame before their Lord, "Our Lord, we have seen and we have heard, so send us back again and we will act rightly. For we do indeed now believe." 12 And if We had willed, We could have given every soul its guidance, but the word from Me will come into effect [that] "I will surely fill Hell with jinn and people all together. 13 So taste the chastisement on account of your forgetting the encounter of this Day. We, too, have forgotten you. Taste the eternal chastisement as a requital for your misdeeds.” 14 Only those believe in Our Signs, who, when they are recited to them, fall down in prostration, and celebrate the praises of their Lord, nor are they (ever) puffed up with pride. ۩ 15 Their sides forsake their beds, and they call upon their Lord in fear and hope, and expend (in charity) out of the sustenance We have granted them. 16 No soul knoweth that which is kept hidden for them of perfect comfort as a recompense for that which they have been working. 17 What? Is he who has been a believer like unto him who has been ungodly? They are not equal. 18 As for those who believed and did righteous deeds, for them will be the Gardens of Refuge as accommodation for what they used to do. 19 And as for those who do evil, their retreat is the Fire. Whenever they desire to issue forth from thence, they are brought back thither. Unto them it is said: Taste the torment of the Fire which ye used to deny. 20 We shall certainly have them taste some chastisement in this world in addition to the greater chastisement (of the Hereafter); perhaps they will retract (from their transgression). 21 And who is more wicked than he who, when reminded of the verses of his Lord turns away from them? We take revenge on the sinners. 22
