The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
