And (remember) when your Lord called Musa (Moses) (saying): "Go to the people who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doing), 10 and ask them, "Why do you not fear God?" 11 He answered: "O my Sustainer! Behold, I fear that they will give me the lie, 12 And my breast straitens, and my tongue is not eloquent, therefore send Thou to Haroun (to help me); 13 And they have upon me a [claim due to] sin, so I fear that they will kill me." 14 Allah said: "Nay! Go you both with Our Signs. Verily! We shall be with you, listening. 15 So go you to Pharaoh, and say, "Verily, I am the Messenger of the Lord of all Being; 16 Send with us the Children of Isra'il? 17 [Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life? 18 And you did (that) deed of yours which you did, and you are one of the ungrateful. 19 Replied [Moses]: "I committed it while I was still going astray; 20 "So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the messengers. 21 "And this is the favour with which thou dost reproach me,- that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Pharaoh said, 'And what is the Lord of all Being?' 23 Said Moosa, “Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them; if you believe.” 24 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Do you not hear (what he says)?" 25 He said: your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers. 26 Fir'awn said: verily your apostle who hath been sent unto you is mad. 27 He said: The Lord of the east and the west and what is between them, if you understand. 28 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "If you choose an ilah (god) other than me, I will certainly put you among the prisoners." 29 He said, 'What, even though I brought thee something so manifest?' 30 Pharaoh said: "Then bring it if you are truthful at all." 31 Then he cast down his staff, and lo! it was a serpent manifest. 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
