Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
