The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 Those who when they take the measure from others, take it in full! 2 But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss. 3 Do such (men) not consider that they will be raised again 4 On a mighty Day. 5 a Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 By no means! Verily the record of the ungodly is in Sijjin. 7 And what can make you know what is sijjeen? 8 The record is a sealed text. 9 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 10 and those who have rejected the Day of Judgment. 11 And none deny it except every sinful transgressor. 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says: 'Fictitious tales of the ancients' 13 Not at all – but rather their earnings have heaped rust upon their hearts. 14 Yes indeed – they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 Then most surely they shall enter the burning fire. 16 They will then be told: "This is what you had denied." 17 By no means! Verily the record of the virtuous shall be in 'Illiyun. 18 But how will you comprehend what 'Illiyun is? 19 A book inscribed, 20 The ones nearest to God will bring it to public. 21 The virtuous will surely be in bliss, 22 On couches face to face. 23 On their faces you will see the glow of beatitude. 24 They will be given pure wine out of sealed containers 25 With a sealing of musk, which those who aspire for the best should desire, -- 26 And admixture thereof will be Water of Tasnim: 27 a fountain at which do drink those brought nigh. 28 Surely they who are guilty used to laugh at those who believe. 29 and whenever they pass by them, they wink at one another [derisively]; 30 And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. 31 and when they saw the believers, they said: “Lo! These are the erring ones”; 32 Yet they were not sent as guardians over them. 33 So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers, 34 [for, resting in paradise] on couches, they will look on [and say to themselves]: 35 Are not the disbelievers paid for what they used to do? 36
