The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif Lam Mim. 1 This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah - 2 Who believe in the Unseen, and establish prayer, and out of that wherewith We have provided them expend. 3 And who believe in that which has been bestowed from on high upon thee, [O Prophet,] as well as in that which was bestowed before thy time: for it is they who in their innermost are certain of the life to come! 4 It is they who are on guidance from their Lord; and they are the successful. 5 As for those whose fate is disbelief, whether you warn them or do not warn them – it is all one for them; they will not believe. (Because their hearts are sealed – see next verse). 6 Allah has sealed their hearts and their ears, and on their eyes is a covering; and for them is a terrible punishment. 7
