When the Messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk." 62 They said: "Nay, we have brought to you that concerning which they have been in doubt. 63 We truly tell you that we have brought to you the Truth. 64 So set out with your family during a portion of the night and follow behind them and let not anyone among you look back and continue on to where you are commanded." 65 And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn. 66 And the people of the city came, rejoicing at the news (of new arrivals). 67 Lut said: "These are my guests: disgrace me not: 68 And guard against (the punishment of) Allah and do not put me to shame. 69 They (people of the city) said: "Did we not forbid you to entertain (or protect) any of the 'Alamin (people, foreigners, strangers, etc. from us)?" 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 By your life! In their drunkenness they were truly blind. 72 So the rumbling overtook them (while) entering upon the time of sunrise; 73 We turned the town upside down and rained upon them stones of clay. 74 Behold! in this are Signs for those who by tokens do understand. 75 Indeed, it is on a way which still exists. 76 Surely! Therein is indeed a sign for the believers. 77 And indeed the Dwellers of the Woods were unjust. 78 So We punished them too. They are both situated by the highway, clearly visible. 79
