And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers. 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). 141 then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore while he was sick, 145 and We caused to grow over him a tree of gourds. 146 And We sent him towards a hundred thousand people, in fact more. 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Now ask them if their Lord has daughters, and they sons? 149 Or that have We created the angels as females, while they were present? 150 Lo! verily it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 'God has begotten?' They are truly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 Will you not then mind? 155 Do you have clear authority? 156 Produce, then, that divine writ of yours, if you are speaking the truth! 157 And they have invented a kinship between Him and the jinns, but the jinns know well that they have indeed to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be brought for accounts). 158 God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him 159 all of them except the chosen servants of Allah. 160 Therefore you and all what you worship. (The disbelievers and their deities.) 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 Except the one who will go into the blazing fire. 163 [All forces of nature praise God and say:] "Among us, too, there is none but has a place assigned to it [by Him]; 164 and, verily, we too are ranged [before Him in worship]; 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 What though they would say, 167 If we had the account of earlier people with us, 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 They have rejected the Quran. They will soon know the consequences (of their disbelief). 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 And surely, only Our army will be victorious. 173 Therefore turn away from them for some time. 174 and see, and soon they too shall see. 175 Do they seek to hasten on Our Torment? 176 When it descends into their courtyard, it will be terrible for those who have already been warned. 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Too glorious is your Lord, the Lord of power, for what they ascribe to Him. 180 And peace be unto the sent ones. 181 and praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being. 182
