Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
