Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, [saying], "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment." 1 He said, 'O my people, I am unto you a clear warner, 2 [Saying], 'Worship Allah, fear Him and obey me. 3 He will forgive your sins and give you a respite for an appointed time. When the time which God has appointed arrives, none will be able to postpone it. Would that you knew this!" 4 He said: my Lord! Verily I have called my people night and day. 5 But my invitation increased them not except in flight. 6 Each time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers in their ears and wrapped themselves in their garments, and persisted becoming very proud. 7 "And behold I called unto them openly; 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 Then I said, Ask forgiveness of your Lord, surely He is the most Forgiving: 10 He will send the heaven upon you copiously; 11 "'Give you increase in wealth and sons; and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers (of flowing water). 12 What ails you, that you look not for majesty in God, 13 He has created you by stages! 14 Have you not seen how Allah created the seven heavens one above the other, 15 and set the moon therein for a light and the sun for a lamp? 16 Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth, 17 He will make you return to it and then take you out of it again. 18 ‘And it is Allah Who made the earth a bed for you.’ 19 That of it ye may traverse the ways open. 20
