Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 162 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 And leave ye your spouses your Lord hath created for you? Aye! ye are a people trespassing. 166 They said, "If you do not desist, Lot, you will surely be banished." 167 He said: Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your doing; 168 'My Lord, save me and my people from that they are doing' 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 175
