In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O THOU human being! 1 I swear by the Quran full of wisdom 2 Truly, you (O Muhammad SAW) are one of the Messengers, 3 on a Straight Way, 4 (This is) a Revelation sent down by the AllMighty, the Most Merciful, 5 so that you may warn a people whose fathers were not warned, and so were heedless. 6 Assuredly the word hath been justified against most of them, wherefore they shall not believe. 7 We have indeed put shackles around their necks reaching up to the chins, so they remain facing upwards. 8 and We have set a barrier before them and a barrier behind them, and We have enshrouded them in veils so that they cannot see: 9 The same is it to them whether thou admonish them or thou do not admonish them: they will not believe. 10 You only warn he who follows the Remembrance and fears the Merciful in the Unseen. Give to him glad tidings of forgiveness and a generous wage. 11 It is We who bring the dead to life and records the deeds of human beings and their consequences (of continual effects). We keep everything recorded in an illustrious Book. 12

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
