Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 And what is that indubitable event? 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 4 Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Now dost thou see any remnant of them? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 The Day whereon ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 In an elevated garden, 22 Clusters whereof shall be near at hand. 23 'Eat and drink with wholesome appetite for that you did long ago, in the days gone by.' 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 and neither known this my account! 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 and has no food except the filth from the washing of wounds, 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
