The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 that hide, 16 And the close of night, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
