'Lord' said Moses, 'expand my chest, 25 and make my task easy for me. 26 and my tongue fluent 27 (That) they may understand my word; 28 And give me as assistant from my family 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 By him confirm my strength 31 and let him share my task, 32 so that we exalt You 33 And may make mention of Thee oft. 34 Surely, Thou art seeing us. 35 The Lord said, "Moses, your request is granted. 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on you another time (before). 37 Remember when We inspired your mother with a certain inspiration 38 Saying! cast him in the ark, and cast him into the river, and the river will throw him on the bank, and then an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his will take him up. And I cast on thee love from Me in order that thou mayest be formed under Mine eye. 39 [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses. 40 I have chosen you for Myself. 41 Go with My signs, you and your brother, and do not be lax in remembering Me. 42 Go, both of you, to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 43 "And speak to him mildly, perhaps he may accept admonition or fear Allah." 44 The two [brothers] said: "O our Sustainer! Verily, we fear lest he act hastily with regard to us, or lest he [continue to] transgress all bounds of equity." 45 (The Lord) said: "Be not afraid. I am verily with you, and I hear and see. 46 Go to him and say, 'We are both messengers from your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not oppress them. We have brought you a Sign from your Lord, and may peace be upon whoever follows the right guidance; 47 Lo! it hath been revealed unto us that the doom will be for him who denieth and turneth away. 48 [But when God's message was conveyed unto Pharaoh,] he said: "Who, now, is this Sustainer of you two, O Moses?" 49 [Musa (Moses)] said: "Our Lord is He Who gave to each thing its form and nature, then guided it aright." 50 [Pharaoh] said, "Then what is the case of the former generations?" 51 He said, “Their knowledge is with my Lord, (recorded) in a Book; my Lord neither strays nor forgets.” 52 Who made the earth for you an expanse and made for you therein paths and sent down water from the cloud; then thereby We have brought forth many species of various herbs. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle, (therein); verily, in this are proofs and signs for men of understanding. 54
