The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers 1 Who are humble in their service, 2 And they who turn away from ill speech 3 those who pay the zakat; 4 Who guard their sex 5 save from their wives, or those whom their right hands possess; for with regard to them they are free from blame " 6 But those whose desires exceed those limits are transgressors;- 7 those who are faithful to their trusts and promises; 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 these are the heirs 10 Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide. 11 And certainly We created man of an extract of clay, 12 then We made him, a drop, in a secure receptacle (the womb). 13 Thereafter We created the sperm a clot; then We created the clot a lump of flesh; then We created the lump of flesh bones; then We clothed the bones with flesh: thereafter We brought him forth as another creature. Blest then be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 Then surely on the day of resurrection you shall be raised. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 And We have sent down rain from the sky in a measured amount and settled it in the earth. And indeed, We are Able to take it away. 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you, and whereof you eat. 19 as well as a tree that issues from [the lands adjoining] Mount Sinai, yielding oil and relish for all to eat. 20 And most surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We make you to drink of what is in their bellies, and you have in them many advantages and of them you eat, 21 And on them and on the ship ye are carried. 22
