۞ [And God will thus command:] "Assemble all those who were bent on evildoing, together with others of their ilk and [with] all that they were wont to worship 22 Instead of Allah, and lead them to the path to hell; 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 "Why help you not one another?" 25 But they, that Day, are in surrender. 26 And they will turn to one another and question one another. 27 "It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". 28 Others will respond, "It was you who did not want to have any faith. 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 Now the Word of our Lord hath been fulfilled concerning us. Lo! we are about to taste (the doom). 31 Therefore we perverted you, and we ourselves were perverts.' 32 Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty. 33 that is how We deal with evil-doers. 34 Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 Lo! (now) verily ye taste the painful doom - 38 Ye are requited naught save what ye did - 39 Save single-minded slaves of Allah; 40 there is waiting for them a known provision; 41 Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity, 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 They will be seated upon couches set face to face; 44 They will be served with a cup full of crystal clear wine, 45 clear, delightful to those who drink it: 46 There will neither be any harm in it for their body nor will it intoxicate their mind. 47 And with them will be chaste females, restraining their glances (desiring none except their husbands), with wide and beautiful eyes. 48 like closely guarded pearls. 49 They will turn to one another with questions: 50 A speaker from among them shall say: Surely I had a comrade of mine, 51 "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? 52 (Do you think) we would be paid back our due when we are dead and reduced to dust and bones?' 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 and says: "By God! Verily, thou hast almost destroyed me [too, O my erstwhile companion] 56 for had it not been for my Sustainer's favour, I would surely be [now] among those who are given over [to suffering]! 57 What then, shall we not die 58 except for our first death? And shall we suffer no chastisement?'” 59 This is certainly the greatest triumph 60 for which one must strive hard. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils. 65 The dwellers of hell will eat that fruit and fill-up their bellies. 66 Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water. 67 And afterward, lo! their return is surely unto hell. 68 These are the ones who found their fathers steeped in error, 69 So they (too) were rushed down on their footsteps! 70 And certainly most of the ancients went astray before them, 71 though We had sent among them warners. 72 See how those who were warned met their end! 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74
