The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O thou wrapped up (in the mantle)! 1 stand up, deliver your warning, 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 And thy garments keep free from stain! 4 And banish all trepidation. 5 And bestow not favors that you may receive again with increase, 6 and be patient unto thy Lord. 7 For when the Trump is sounded 8 it will be a hard day 9 Not easy upon the disbelievers. 10 Leave Me with the one I created alone 11 And gave him abundant wealth 12 And sons present by his side. 13 and to whose life I gave so wide a scope: 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give yet more! 15 By no means! Verily he hath been unto Our signs a foe. 16 On him I shall impose a fearful doom. 17 He reflected and then hatched a scheme. 18 So may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 19 Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 20 He then dared to lift his gaze. 21 Then frowned and grimaced. 22 then he retreated and grew proud 23 Then he said: "This is nothing but magic from that of old; 24 Naught is this but the word of Man. 25 I will cast him into hell. 26 and what will teach thee what is Sakar? 27 It neither leaves, nor spares. 28 scorching the flesh; 29 Over it are Nineteen. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
