The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 And the second followeth it, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 you pay attention 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
