▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ So I call the placement of the stars to witness -- 75 And lo! that verily is a tremendous oath, if ye but knew - 76 That (this) is indeed a noble Qur'an 77 in a well-guarded preserved Book, 78 none but the purified shall touch, 79 A revelation from the Lord of the Worlds. 80 Do you, then, take this discourse in light esteem, 81 Would you reject the sustenance that you receive rather than give thanks? 82 Then why do ye not (intervene) when (the soul of the dying man) reaches the throat,- 83 and that hour you are watching 84 We are closer to him than you, even though you cannot see? 85 why, then, if you are not subject to Our command, 86 do you not restore his soul, if you are truthful? 87 Then if he is one of those drawn nigh (to Allah), 88 happiness [awaits him in the life to come,] and inner fulfillment, and a garden of bliss. 89 And if he is one of the People on the Right, 90 Then peace to you from those on the right hand. 91 But, if he is of those who belied, and went astray, 92 He shall have an entertainment of boiling water, 93 And burning in Hell-Fire. 94 This is indeed an utmost certainty. 95 Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) proclaim the Purity of the name of your Lord, the Greatest. 96

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
