The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the great news - 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 Nay, they will come to know! 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 and the night as a cover, 10 And have appointed the day for livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 And the heaven will be opened – it therefore becomes like gates. 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 [On that Day,] verily, hell will lie in wait [for those who deny the truth] 21 a home for the transgressors, 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 , A fitting reward. 26 They indeed hoped not for a reckoning, 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30
