The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 and gathered his people together 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
