The people of 'Ad accused the messengers of lies. 123 Their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear God? 124 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 125 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 126 I do not ask for any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 127 Do you build monuments on every high place in vanity, 128 And take ye for yourselves castles that haply ye may abide. 129 And when you strike, you strike as tyrants. 130 So fear Allah, and obey me. 131 fear Him who has aided you with all that you know -- 132 "Freely has He bestowed on you cattle and sons,- 133 "And Gardens and Springs. 134 I fear the punishment of a terrible day for you. 135 They replied, "It makes no difference to us whether you preach or do not preach, 136 This is just a habit of antiquated people. 137 We will not be subjected to any chastisement." 138 So they rejected him; and We destroyed them. There is certainly a sign in that; but most of them would not believe. 139 And indeed your Lord only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 140

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
