The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 164 Do you approach males among the worlds 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? You are a people who transgress all bounds." 166 They said, “O Lut, if you do not desist, you will be expelled.” 167 (Lot) said: "I am disgusted with your actions," 168 "My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do." 169 Then We delivered him and all his family 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 174 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 175
