The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
