The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 that hide, 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Where then will you go? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
