Al-Takaathur
Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)
8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
The excessive gathering (of increase and boasting) occupied you (from worshipping and obeying) 1 Till you reach the grave. 2 Lo! presently ye shall know. 3 And once again: Nay, in time you will come to understand! 4 No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty... 5 You will be shown hell 6 In the end you will indeed, most surely, behold it with the eye of certainty: 7 and on that Day you will most surely be called to account for [what you did with] the boon of life! 8
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
