No, by the moon! 32 By the receding night 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 About the criminals, 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 Till death overtook us. 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As they were frightened asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
