The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 About which they have been differing? 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Nay, again, but they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 The mountains tent-pins? 7 and created you in pairs (as men and women), 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 and We made the night a mantle, 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 so that We might bring forth thereby grain, and herbs, 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 And the heaven is opened and will become gateways 19 And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will dwell therein for ages. 23 they shall taste in it no coolness, nor any pleasant drink 24 save boiling water and a stinking fluid -- 25 a fitting requital, 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
