The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
