In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He has created man: 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
