Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 even though they make excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
