S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Sad. CONSIDER this Qur'an, endowed with all that one ought to remember! 1 In fact, the unbelievers are the ones who are boastful and quarrelsome. 2 How many generations have We destroyed before them. They called: 'The time is neither of escape, nor safety' 3 And they were surprised that a Herald of Warning came to them from among themselves; and the disbelievers said, “He is a magician, a great liar!” 4 Has he made the gods one single God? This is truly astounding.” 5 And their leading chiefs said: "Remain attached to your gods. There is surely some motive behind it. 6 “We never heard of this even in Christianity, the latest religion; this is clearly a newly fabricated matter.” 7 Has this Exhortation been sent down among us only to him, to the exclusion of all others?” Nay, they are in doubt regarding My Exhortation, and are saying all this because they have not yet had any taste of My chastisement. 8 Do they possess the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Mighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Or is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, theirs? Then let them climb up the ladders (to the heavens). 10 But there - will be put to flight even a host of confederates. 11 Before them (were many who) rejected messengers,- the people of Noah, and 'Ad, and Pharaoh, the Lord of Stakes, 12 And Samood and the people of Lut and the dwellers of the thicket; these were the parties. 13 Not one (of them) but rejected the messengers, but My punishment came justly and inevitably (on them). 14
