Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion of the Universe, and Who has power over everything; 1 He created death and life so that He might test you, and find out which of you is best in conduct. He is the Mighty, the Most Forgiving One. 2 It is He who has created seven heavens, one above the other. You can see no flaw in the creation of the Beneficent God. Look again. Can you see faults? 3 Then return thy gaze again, and again, and thy gaze comes back to thee dazzled, aweary. 4 And indeed We have adorned the nearest heaven with lamps, and We have made such lamps (as) missiles to drive away the Shayatin (devils), and have prepared for them the torment of the blazing Fire. 5 Those who are bent on blaspheming against their Lord will have the punishment of Hell: an evil destination. 6 When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath as it blazes forth. 7 and wellnigh bursts asunder with rage. As often as a troop is cast into it, its keepers ask them, 'Came there no warner to you?'; 8 They will say: "Yes indeed; a Warner did come to us, but we rejected him and said, 'Allah never sent down any (Message): ye are nothing but an egregious delusion!'" 9 And they will say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we would not have been among the dwellers of the blazing Fire!" 10 And they will admit their sin, so [it is] alienation for the companions of the Blaze. 11 As for those who fear their Lord in the unseen will have forgiveness and a rich reward. 12 Be secret in your speech, or proclaim it, He knows the thoughts within the breasts. 13 Does He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted? 14
