The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
