The people of Noah denied the messengers 105 When their brother Noah said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 106 I am a trustworthy messenger for you: 107 so fear Allah and obey me. 108 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 109 So fear Allah and obey me." 110 ۞ They replied, "Are we to believe in you when your followers are but the lowest of the low?" 111 Said he: "And what knowledge could I have as to what they were doing [before they came to me]? 112 Their reckoning rests with none but my Sustainer: if you could but understand [this]! 113 I am certainly not one to drive away the believers. 114 "I am sent only to warn plainly in public." 115 They said: "If you do not desist, O Noah, you will be stoned to death." 116 Then Noah said, "Lord, my people have rejected me. 117 So pass a clear judgement between me and them and rescue me and the believers with me." 118 And We saved him and those with him in the laden ship. 119 and then We caused those who stayed behind to drown. 120 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 121 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 122
