Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
