The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Surely there hath come upon man a space of time when he was not a thing worth mentioning. 1 We have created the human from a (sperm) drop, a mixture, testing him; We made him to hear and see. 2 Verily, We showed him the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful. 3 Verily We! We have gotten ready for the infidels chains and collars and a Blaze. 4 Surely the pious shall drink of a cup whose mixture is camphor, 5 This will be a gushing spring wherefrom Allah's servants shall drink wine, a spring from which they will take out channels wherever they wish. 6 They fulfil their vows, and fear a day whose evil is upon the wing; 7 And out of His love, they give food to the needy, the orphan and the prisoner. 8 Saying: we feed you only for the sake of Allah; we desire not from you any recompense or thanks. 9 Surely we fear from our Lord a stern, distressful day. 10 So Allah saved them from the evil of that Day, and gave them Nadratan (a light of beauty) and joy. 11 And reward them for their perseverence Paradise and silken robes, 12 Reclining there upon couches, they shall see neither the sun nor the moon. 13 near them shall be its shades, and its clusters hung meekly down, 14 And amongst them will be passed round vessels of silver and goblets of crystal,- 15 Clear glasses [made] from silver of which they have determined the measure. 16 And they will be given to drink a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of ginger 17 [From] a fountain within Paradise named Salsabeel. 18 ۞ There wait on them immortal youths, whom, when thou seest, thou wouldst take for scattered pearls. 19 When you look around, you will see delights and great dominion. 20 Their garments will be of fine green silk, and gold embroidery. They will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a pure drink. 21 Behold, this is a recompense for you, and your striving is thanked.' 22

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
