Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 For a known calculated term. 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead. 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
