Thamud denied the messengers 141 Behold, their brother Salih said to them: "Will you not fear (Allah)? 142 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 143 So fear Allah, and obey me. 144 I do not ask any recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 145 “Will you be left peacefully in these favours over here?” 146 “In gardens and water springs?” 147 and cornfields and date-palms laden with juicy fruits? 148 "And ye carve houses out of (rocky) mountains with great skill. 149 So be mindful of God and listen to me. 150 and pay no heed to the counsel of those who are given to excesses 151 Who spread corruption in the earth, and reform not. 152 They said, “You are under a magic spell.” 153 You are a mere mortal like us. Show us a miracle if you are telling the Truth". 154 He said: This is a she-camel; she shall have her portion of water, and you have your portion of water on an appointed time; 155 Do not touch her with malice so that punishment of a dreadful day seizes you' 156 But they cruelly slaughtered her - and then they had cause to regret it: 157 For they were seized by the torment. Verily there was a sign in this, but most of them did not believe. 158 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 159

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
