Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
We have created the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay 26 and the jinn before (the human being) of smokeless fire. 27 And when your Lord said to the angels: Surely I am going to create a mortal of the essence of black mud fashioned in shape. 28 When I have shaped him and ran My created soul in him fall down prostrating towards him'. 29 So the angels made obeisance, all of them together, 30 But Satan did not; he refused to join those who prostrated themselves. 31 God asked Iblis, "What made you not join the others in prostration?" 32 Iblis replied, "I did not want to prostrate before a human being whom You have created out of mud-moulded clay". 33 Said Allah, “Therefore exit from Paradise, for you are an outcast.” 34 Upon thee shall rest the curse, till the Day of Doom.' 35 He said: My Lord! then respite me till the time when they are raised. 36 He said: So surely you are of the respited ones 37 unto the day of a known time.' 38 [Whereupon Iblis] said: "O my Sustainer! Since Thou hast thwarted me, I shall indeed make [all that is evil] on earth seem goodly to them, and shall most certainly beguile them - into grievous error 39 except Your sincere servants". 40 Said He: "This is, with Me, a straight way: 41 over My worshipers you have no authority, except the perverse that follow you. 42 And verily Hell is the place promised unto them all. 43 To it are seven gates: for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. 44

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
